Climate Changes You

Climate change, resulting from variations in the solar cycle, transformations proven by natural phenomena and consequences of human activities, have been the trigger for the main discussions related to the environment, bringing together people, companies and institutions to propose innovative and sustainable solutions on the subject.

There is a significant divergence of opinion on the causes related to climate change, accentuated by the abundance of little or very rigorous information of truth and that contributes to the various positioning by the general population. The same is true in the scientific community, as scholars and experts on the subject are increasingly finding numerous results, equally optional, that oppose hypotheses firmly sustained for years.

In this context and in the scope of the DEMOLA project, a co-creation project was carried out with the aim of prototyping a product that could inform and train citizens, contributing to minimize some of the problems or causes that drive climate change.

The methodology follows the parameters developed by the Demola Global platform, with three main phases: Discovery, Creation, and Refinement. The work methodology was divided into four phases, namely Kick off, Jam I, Jam II, and Final Meeting, where students must present the results of their work in teams to the other participating teams and facilitators (Catalá-Pérez et al., 2020).

KICK OFF.
It corresponds to the initial phase of the Demola process, where through a meeting face-to-face or online, between facilitators, partners and students. In terms of teamwork, canvas models are used to diagnose the case and of the team's canvas, for a self-knowledge of the members (Image 1, 2 and 3 in the document). Still in this phase the team had the opportunity to know the representative of the partner company, allowing discussion of the problem and approximation between parties (Image 4 and 5 in the document).

JAM 1.
This session was dedicated to discovery. Activities were carried out in the Miro virtual environment (Image 6 in the document) and presential activities in the Jam, such as: problem tree (problem identification, causes and effects) (Image 7 and 8 in the document); Stakeholder map, main actors that interact with the company (Image 9 in the document), the NABC model (Needs, Approach, Benefits and Competitors) and the project prototype (Image 10 in the document).

JAM 2.
In Jam II, pitch presentations were given to facilitators and specialists, who after the presentations were able to add value to the co-creation processes, helping to reflect on what was diagnosed as a problem and what is solution-oriented (Image 11 and 12 in the document). At this point in the Demola process, the team had to decide what kind of approach would be used to work on solving the problem (Image 13, 14, 15 and 16 in the document).

FINAL PITCH.
This phase corresponds to the delivery of the final product, where the team must present the prototype of the solution, as well as the results of the development of the idea and the justifications for choosing the solution presented.
